Frequently Asked Questions: Classes
-
Monday after school classes start with an opportunity to settle and have a snack. Children are welcome to bring a snack, water bottle, and stuffee- but it is not required.

In Kids Mindfulness, your kiddos will move their bodies, learn about our breath and gain a better connection to our emotions and our inner peace, all while being silly and playful. The class format begins with an opportunity to settle and have snack. We open up class with a sharing circle in which every child has an opportunity to talk and reflect on a meaningful question. We learn a breathing tool and follow up with a movement game, an opportunity to practice peace, and/or an activity that supports emotional intelligence. Class ends with comfy cozy time in which we dim the lights, play calm music, and children have an opportunity to create a fort or other comforting space to relax, breathe, or practice just be-ing. We practice the following affirmations to close class: “I am Love. I am peace. I am smart. I am strong. I am brave. I am curious. I am creative. I am kind. I am special. I am amazing.” This class will be great for supporting your children with learning tools to calm their nervous system, navigate their emotions, and better understand their bodies.

Your child is welcome to join late or pick up early if need be, but they will miss out on class time. The end of class is comfy cozy time and I believe this is the best part of class: building forts and finding time to relax! And we close class with affirmations to promote a positive sense of self worth.
